The responsibility for demarcating public hiking parking lots typically falls to the local government or relevant land management agency. These entities are responsible for designating and maintaining parking areas for public use, including those for hiking trails. They may work with transportation and planning departments to ensure that parking lots are properly marked and maintained for the safety and convenience of hikers. Additionally, they may also collaborate with environmental and conservation organizations to ensure that parking areas are designed in a way that minimizes impact on the surrounding natural environment. **
